Athearn 20K gallon Richmond Tank Car

Here are several photos of Athearns 20K gallon Richmond tank car kit. Tank cars models have come a long way over the past few years and the quality is continuing to improve. Not being a big tank car follower in the past, I have started to get a little more interested in them as the detail improves. Lots to learn! Interesting feature on these kits. Notice the bolster end frame units are cast metal. Strength wise, probably a good move. Assembly wise, do parts stay attached? Guess I will have to build a couple to answer that. I don't have RTR cars to see how they are holding up.
