Athearn GATX 2600cf AirSlide 'early' covered hopper kit

A few years back, Athearn was really pressing the envelope on some of their models. These photos of this Airslide kit show the number of parts used to detail this car. The first run of these kits were sold out before they hit the stores. Keep hearing that undecorated kits don't sell. Well this one did. And apparently there was a lot of "communication" on these kits because Athearn quickly did a SECOND RUN of these kits in Oct 09 with kits, that were due in May 2010. Not sure if they have ever done another run. As with ANY Athearn undec kit, make sure you pre-order when announced from a reputable dealer.
