EMD SD45 and FP45 Exhaust Fan Mounting Bracket Set #11807
These photos show one of our #11807 fan mounting brackets installed in one of Athearns FP45 models. This is one case when one might want to use these brackets. If the fan housing are decent and have open grills, but the fans need replacement or are not present, these brackets can be used. In this case, the model had plastic fans molded right into the fan housing. The plastic fans were carefully removed and the inside walls were filed smooth. A set of our fans were added to the brackets before installing to help center them in the housings. The fans are attached using small standoff tabs that are included with the bracket kits. There are three sizes of standoffs included to help get a somewhat accurate depth of the fan should your mount options vary. The whole assembly is glued to the inside of the shell using a suggested contact glue.
