ACF
Two walkway patterns are available for the Athearn 55 ft. center flow car.This is the "blue box" car that has been
available for many years.
- Morton round pattern
- Apex slotted pattern
There are several special features in these walkway kits.
- There are holes in the appropriate corners for grab irons.
- The supports are nothing more than strips of brass etched to
size with etched score lines on them. At these score lines, the modeler
is required to bend these strips, forming the supports to hold the walkways.
- Spacing between supports can be set by the modeler to match a chosen
prototype, or use the given locations on a supplied paper drill template.
There are two different packaging configurations for these walkways.
- The Morton round pattern walkways come with all supports the same width.
- The Apex slotted pattern walkways come with two different width supports for the alternating configuration.
Small platforms over the couplers are another feature included in these kits.
They too have frames to hold them in place.

Ramax / Detail Associates cf2970
A one piece Apex pattern walkway for the Detail Assoicates (previously the RAMAX flat kit) 2 bay ACF 2970cf covered
hopper is ready to drop on, after you add the supplied brass supports that part of this kit. Coupler crossover
platforms and a drill template for the supports are included too.
Please note - the small batch of these #077 kits are made out of Phosphorus Bronze rather than Stainless Steel.
They will need to be painted once installed on your model.

Atlas and InterMountain both make models of the ACF 4650cf covered hoppers. And they both come with metal Apex
pattern walkways. Just in case someone needs a Morton pattern walkway for their ACF4650 car, we have one that
will fit either manufacturers model. Kit includes walkway, brass supports, coupler platforms and a drill template.

Atlas also makes a ACF Center Flow PressureAide covered hopper model. The model comes with a Apex pattern metal
walkway. But many of the prototypes we have seen have a Gypsum diamond pattern walkway on them. We have a
replacement walkway kit available for this model with the Gypsum pattern. Replacement brass walkway supports and
matching coupler crossover platforms are also supplied in the kit. Although this car doesn't match the model,
we do have series of detail photos of a PressureAide car posted
here on our web site.
Maybe they will come in handy for your detailing project.

Front Range ACF cars
If you have any of the 2 or 3 bay ACF hoppers once produced by Front Range, (later by McKean and Hubert)
we have a couple kits available to fit those models. These kits include a four piece Apex walkway, brass supports
and couple platforms. The 2 bay kit can be used on the InterMountain 2980 cf car.
SALE - We have discovered that we have an abundance of the #105 3 bay walkway kits and we need to reduce those.

Atlas cf3510 cylindrical

Canadian Grain Car
For the Canadian Grain Car produced by InterMountian Railway, this one piece stainless steel roofwalk
will fit right on the car with no special skills required. The walkway sits on the plastic supports found on the model.
Coupler platforms are also a part of this kit.
And, if you have one of the Walthers Mainline 59' Cylindrical Hopper Models, this same roofwalk is a perfect fit
for that model as well.

Listed below is a Morton pattern roofwalk found on some Scoular Cylindrical Hoppers and maybe others as well.
These fit the InterMountain Cylindrical car.
AHM Flexi-Flow
For those of you that are wanting to do a make over on the old AHM Flexi-Flow covered hopper, we have a detail kit
for that car. The kit contains a walkway and supports, new end ladders, new corner stanchions with curved grabs, new
stirrup steps, a new brake stand and a brake platform.

Pullman Standard
Available for MDC's (now Athearn) PS2 2 Bay hopper and ConCors (or E&B Valley) PS2 3 Bay hopper are Apex pattern walkways.
To give the modeler more freedom for other projects, side platforms are NOT attached to the main walkway.
The MDC 2 Bay also has a U.S. Gypsum expanded metal walkway available like those used by the UP.

2 Bay Cement
This kit consists of walkways only and utilizes the support risers already molded on the roof of the
Wm. K. Walthers car. Please note that these roofwalks fit the original version of the Walthers cement hoppers.
There are four parts to this roofwalk kit. If you have one of the newer Walthers Trinity 100 ton 2 bay Cememt Hoppers
with the one piece walkway, we have a walkway kit for that model also. You will find that kit in the
Trinity car section farther down on this page.

3 Bay Covered Hopper Details
The Athearn 54 ft PS, Walthers PS2CD and Proto2000s 4427 covered hopper walkway kits
include brass walkway supports and coupler/brake platforms. Notice that kits 087 and 088 fit either the
Wm. K Walthers low hip or Proto 2000's high side model. If you are going to be adding more than one or two of
our walkway kits to the 4427cf cars, one of our
#10889 Phos Bronze drill templates will greatly aid
you in the drilling of the support holes. A paper drill template is supplied with each walkway kit, but the metal
template speeds up the process and adds accuracy.

PS2 4427 Low Side End Frames and Details
Not all PS2 4427 covered hoppers have high mounted brake wheels. Some of them (OK a few) have low mounted brake wheels.
At least two, Milwaukee and
CNW
second photo had the low mounted brake wheels with
end posts pointing in toward the car. These two kits are designed to detail the Wm. K Walthers low side car.
The kits can be used on the ExactRail model, but factoring in the costs of the two cars and the results of the conversion,
The WKW car is the better choice in our opinion. Our kits differ in their configuration. The
10875 kit will only detail
one car. But this kit includes a brass drill template. There are around 100 holes to drill in the car to add all the
details in this kit. This drill template will firmly hold the plastic corner posts and the end and side frames in place.
It is important to keep everything straight and square while drilling for this conversion. The
10876 kit has enough parts to build two cars but the
drill template is paper. If you are comfortable with the paper template (think about it) then this kit might be for you.
Or, start with the single car kit and then do additional cars with the two car kit. If you are doing the CNW car, you will
want to get our #10878 Roofwalk kit. And our #10889
stainless walkway drill template will also work on these cars.
Here is a
batch of photos showing preproduction test parts applied to both manufacturers models. Oh yeah, these kits include replacement end posts, Stirrup steps, Coupler crossover platforms,
Rope pull loops, brass wire for grab irons and the NBWs. I would like to point out that
there are some TLDX cars that have low mounted brake wheels. But they have end posts that point out. If I were going to
build one of those cars, I would use the ExactRail undecorated kit and use the PS2 4740 end frames available from
Tangent Scale Models. Here are some links showing a few TLDX cars. Please take note of the roofwalks. Yea, you will
want to use our #10878 Roofwalk.

While building a few of the Proto2000 4427 PS2CD kits, I saw a few details that could be etched because either they
were 'not quite there', or just cuz I could. These are parts I mainly developed for adding to my fleet of 4427 cars.
But as long as I have them, why not make them available to the other modelers. note:
the 10888 walkway supports ARE included in the 087, 088 and 10878 kits.
They are available separately should they be needed for another project you are working on.

InterMountain PS2CD 4750 Cu. Ft.
Two InterMountain PS 4750 Cu. Ft. covered hopper walkway kits are available in the Morton pattern.
- #083 is an "original" type kit with a walkway like that of the one in the InterMountain kit.
- #082 is a one piece walkway that represents the walkway applied by Trinity Ind.
Kit 082 also contains new bolster side plates allowing the larger bolsters sometimes used on this prototype.
- Another kit for this car are based on Santa Fe Prototypes.
Brass walkway supports and stainless steel coupler platforms are also part of kits.
Please note: These walkway kits are NOT the same size as the Accurail PS2CD 4750 model. Our walkways are
slightly shorter. But we have seen photos of Accurail models with our walkways on them and they turned out well.

Standard Cars Plastic Pellet Car
The plastic pellet car produced by Wm. K. Walthers is an easy car to replace the walkway.
A quick pop off of the plastic walkway, smooth the walkway supports and glue the new walkway in place.
The included coupler platforms mount in the same holes as the plastic platforms, so again a quick
interchange.
