What are we working on at Plano Model Products?

Here is a photo of another coupler cut bar I am working on. This one is make out of brass but the production parts will be made out of Phos. Bronze.

Working on some more detail parts, mostly for SD24s.

These bell and light brackets can be found on UP SD24s.

If your SD24 has a winterization hatch, how about a new screen.

and if it is a UP unit (A or B) how about one of those walkways over the hatch screen.

For those SP and WP modelers, modeling SD24s, SD26s or even GP20s, Do you need one of those brows over your upper lights? The second one is what I believe is closer to correct. Maybe someone has some photos to confirm this.

From the discussion a while back on the RPM list, here is one of at least two winterization hatches of GP7/9s. This one is what I will call the larger one. I have info on a slightly smaller version also. Will probably make production parts out of Phos. Bronze.

Have had a couple requests for switcher louvers. Well, think these will do?
Three different sizes, fourteen of each.

How many roads had coupler knuckle baskets on their diesels walkways? (no, this is not a test...) Here are a couple different patterns if you need some. That is a GP 36" fan in the background for size reference.

That's all of the experiments for now. Have made tweaks to most of the parts listed below and new samples are ordered. The list of new parts I plan to have out by the end of the year is getting long. Need to get to work writing instructions...
Thanks for looking!

Here are a few photos of some detail parts I am working on that are intended to be used on the Proto2000 GP30.

For the highhood GP30, here are a few shots off the bell brackets. Need to make a few adjustments.

Some of the GP30s had some sort of dynamic brake shroud, just to the front of the fan. I don't know if this was an add-on or what roads had these, but I will be making this detail available to the modelers. If I get enough feedback, I will supply a list of known roads that had them.

It has also come to my attention that there was a raised area in the roof, under the dynamic brake fan. I have been informed this was a 1.5 inch rise. So, two .008" (add paint thickness when you add it up...) brass plates, stacked, with holes to except Cannon fans will give you this detail.

And that same rise can be found under the non-dynamic fan plate. New roof plates and a fan hole cover will help match the prototype(that photo coming later). The NBWs are Detail Associates and the lift ring is one of those foldovers I am working on.

Here is the first of a batch of SD24 parts I am working on. This bell bracket needs a few adjustments.

Again, feed back welcome and more info will be provided as the details are closer to being made available.

Thanks for looking!
